From Disney’s 101 Dalmatians this is Cruella DeVil and one very unlucky dalmatian puppy. They are riding in a DeVil mobile.

This is a family affair Gram made the costumes, mom fixed up the salvaged car, Pa Pa mounted steering wheel and horn and dad was the muscle and pulled the car trick or treating.

Cruella’s cape is hand-made with puppy print and red fabric. Gloves were bought on Ebay. The dalmatian costume is a white sweat suit with black felt spots stuck to it and ears of puppy print fabric sewn to his hood. He also had a dog collar with a home-made tag that said Lucky.

The car was found on the side of the road. It started out a pink princess car and was transformed into the DeVil mobile. I used red, black and silver spray paint. Put a painted toy hood ornament and DeVil license plate on back. PaPa also mounted a steering wheel and a big horn on the car. Since the car didn’t actually work I mounted it on our wagon with wire to go trick-or-treating.

I added stick-on felt spots to a white sweatsuit and to four white socks to create paws. To finish the paws, I added some yarn to create toes and added felt to the bottoms in the shape of paw pads. I pinned a black felt tail on the back and two black felt dog ears to the hood. I bought a dog nose mask and painted it white with black spots. I used face paint to paint her dalmatian face and put on her blue dog collar. The final touch was me dressed up as Cruella DeVil.

My 7 year old daughter wanted to be Cruella De Vil for halloween but they don’t sell costumes in her size. Not being a sewer I was a little hesitant about making her a costume but that is what she wanted. And after all the frustration and some fun it turned out great.

My sister came up with the idea and made a tutu. She hot glued black polk-a-dots on the white side. An old red shirt was used for the dress. We found red gloves at the Dollar Store along with some kid costume jewelry. I spray painted an old pair of her shoes red and bought a boa. The wig was cut down to size and spray painted black and white.
